Indian PM Modi congratulates PV Sindhu on her bronze victory in Tokyo Olympics

KATHMANDU: Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi has congratulated badminton player Pusarla Venkata Sindhu for cliching a brone medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

PV Sindhu won the bronze in Women’s single category by beating Chinese opponent He Bingjiao 21-13, 21-15 in the match Sunday. Sindhu is now the first Indian woman to win two individual Olympic medals.

Indian Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter Sunday to congratulate the winner.

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu also congratulated Sindhu along with retweeting PM Modi’s tweet. “Kudos for flying the tricolour high!”, the Indian Embassy said.
