UML’s Nepal-Khanal faction holding SC meeting today

To chalk out strategy against Oli

KATHMANDU: The Nepal-Khanal faction of the ruling CPN-UML is holding a Standing Committee (SC) meeting today.

The disgruntled faction has called a meeting to come up with a common view on the dissolution of the 10th general convention organizing committee by the establishment.

The UML decided to restore the central committee (CC) that existed prior to May 16, 2018.

According to Yubarj Gyawali, a standing committee member, even though party chairman KP Oli announced to have taken the party back to the previous status, there have been still a lot of reservations.

The Nepal-Khanal faction has been dissatisfied after the committee declared invalid by the Supreme Court appointed six leaders to the Standing Committee.

The agreement between the two factions can be possible only when the establishment agrees to seal a deal on a package, said Birodh Khatiwada.
