KATHMANDU: Justices Deepak Kumar Karki and Ananda Mohan Bhattarai have decided to quit the Constitutional Bench after Justices Tej Bahadur KC and Bam Kumar Shrestha decided to remain in the bench.

Justices  Karki, Bhattarai, KC and Shrestha were members of the bench led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

Legal practitioners advocating on behalf of the writ petitioners on Sunday had questioned Justices KC and Shrestha.

Reading out an order separately, Justice duo KC and Shrestha said that they cannot detach themselves from the bench arguing that they have already heard a case related to the writ petition filed against HoR dissolution.

Hence,  Justices Karki and Bhattarai decided to quit the bench.

Chief Justice Rana has scheduled another hearing on the writ petition for June 6. A new Constitutional Bench will be formed to hear this writ petition.
