World Bank to provide Rs 2.92 billion to Nepal to procure coronavirus vaccine



KATHMANDU: The World Bank said it is providing Rs 2.92 billion (US $ 25 million) to Nepal to purchase coronavirus vaccine.

The government will soon sign an agreement with the World Bank after getting an approval from the cabinet, according to the Ministry of Finance.

The Nepal Government has so far disbursed Rs 1 billion to purchase the vaccines.

The World Bank had provided $ 29 million COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness Project to Nepal in April 2020.
