Free firewood will be provided at Pashupati Aryaghat: Minister Ale



KATHMANDU: Minister for Forest and Environment Prem Bahadur Ale has said that the situation of buying firewood for cremation at Pashupati Aryaghat will be ended soon.

Speaking at an inaugural function of a two-day national seminar on ‘Youth Inclusion in Cooperatives’ organized by the National Federation of Cooperatives on Monday, Minister Ale said that buying firewood for cremation at Pashupati Aryaghat would end soon.

He said that the Ministry of Forest and Environment would provide free firewood for cremation.

“The Ministry has begun homework to provide free wood at Pashupati Aryaghat. People have been buying the wood paying Rs 12,000-15,000,” he added.

Minister Ale also said that the concept of an open zoo has been taken forward.
