Rato Machhindranath festival concludes with traditional Bhoto display



LALITPUR: The historic Bhoto Jatra was celebrated with grandeur at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, on Saturday, marking the conclusion of the annual chariot festival of Rato Machhindranath Bhoto Jatra.

As per tradition, the ceremonial display of the sacred and valuable bhoto (vest) was presented to the public during the concluding event of the chariot procession dedicated to Rato Machhindranath, the deity revered for rainfall and prosperity.

The event was attended by President Ram Chandra Paudel, senior government officials, representatives of diplomatic missions, and thousands of devotees.

According to long-standing custom, the public display of the bhoto signifies the formal conclusion of the Rato Machhindranath Jatra, one of Nepal’s most significant cultural and religious festivals.
