Lalitpur maintaining record of foreign returnees



KATHMANDU: Lalitpur has started keeping the record of foreign returnees to curb the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan instructed all the wards’ chairmen and representatives to collect information and supervise the returnees.

He informed that three people have arrived in Khokhana from abroad recently.

Similarly, Rameshwor Shrestha, the mayor at Mahalaxmi Municipality has started keeping the record of foreign returnees before a week.

There are some 25 foreign returnees including from Saudi Arabia, Japan, Bangladesh in the municipality, he informed.

The municipality has urged foreign returnees to maintain social distancing and is planning to keep them at quarantine established with the help of KIST Hospital.

The municipality has disbursed10 million rupees in the initial phase to curb the virus.

Likewise, some 35 people have arrived recently in Godavari Municipality, Mayor Gajendra Maharjan said. Municipality has requested all to stay in quarantines.

Likewise, only two people have been recorded as foreign returnees in Bagmati Rural Municipality.

Moreover, the rest of the municipalities and rural municipalities in Lalitpur have also been started keeping the records.
