KATHMANDU: One more COVID-19 infected man has died in Banke district today, taking the death toll in the district to 30.

The 70-year-old infected man of Ghorahi Sub Metropolitan City-4 in Dang district died at Kohalpur-based Teaching Hospital, said Naresh Babu Shrestha, focal person at the district health office, Banke.

He was admitted to the hospital on October 27 for respiratory problems and was tested positive for the infection on October 28.

The infected man was shifted to COVID-19 intensive care unit where he died after treatment including plasma therapy failed, said Shrestha. So far, 18 infected people who came to the district from outside for treatment have died.

Likewise, an infected man of Mandabi rural municipality-3 in Pyuthan district has died in Chitwan district. The 54-year-old infected man died at Chitwan Medical College on Friday night, said Dhurba Kumar Pokharel, chief of the health section at the rural municipality.

He was referred to the hospital from Butwal for pneumonia, it has been said. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in Pyuthan district has hit three.
