Time to speak ‘loud and clear’ to waken up government in slumber: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Influential youth leader of Nepali Congress (NC) and former Minister for Health, Gagan Thapa has appealed to the public to stand against the deafened government in slumber and wake it up by protesting in the language it understands.

Alarmed at the negligence, recklessness and inaction of the incumbent Prime Minister KP Oli and Health Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, Thapa has lambasted the government for failing to act to safeguard the people’s lives.

“The pandemic transmission is spreading like a bonfire, yet the government has neither increased the tests nor has it started hospital centered preparation,” Thapa tweeted on Friday.

“Let’s speak up in the language and tone the government in slumber understands: It’s too much!” said he.

Mentioning PM Oli and Health Minister Dhakal, leader Thapa has pointed out that the former is entangled in intra-party wrangling whereas the latter has busied himself in eulogizing the PM like a sycophant.

He has pointed out that the pandemic is turning fatal as curbing this pandemic has not got the priority of the high office bearers.
