Prohibitory order in Mahottari as COVID-19 cases spike

MAHOTTARI: District Administration Office, Mahottari has imposed a prohibitory order in the district headquarters Jaleshwor and in ward no. 3 and 5 of Mahottari rural municipality.

The injunction has been imposed for five days in the aforesaid areas effective from Friday 11 pm after cases of coronavirus spiked.

A meeting of the COVID-19 Prevention and Control District Committee, Mahottari took a decision to this effect.

“A prohibitory order has been imposed in the district headquarters Jaleshwor and ward no. 3 and 5 of Mahottari rural municipality for five days to stem coronavirus spread,” said Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Katuwal.

Only a week ago, a 64-year-old man of Mahottari rural municipality-3 had died from coronavirus in the course of treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

The injunction was imposed after coronavirus infections were found in three Nepal Army officials involved in disposing the coronavirus-infected body, two family members of the deceased and five neighbors, said the DPO.
