Senior artist Jayananda Chand Thakuri passes away

KATHMANDU: Senior artist Jayananda Chand Thakuri has passed away at the age of 80 today.

Thakuri, who has been living with her daughter in Kusunti, Lalitpur, had been suffering from paralysis, blood pressure and diabetes for a long time.

Thakuri, who started his acting journey from the Nepali film ‘Jeevan Rekha’, has also acted in many tele-serials and music videos.

He has acted as a character actor in more than 100 feature movies including ‘Vishwas’, ‘Bhagyarekha’, ‘Pheri Bhetaunla’, ‘Mayalu’ and ‘Yuddha’.

Chand Thakuri, who also acted in the Indian film ‘Panchavati’, was last seen in the Nepali film ‘Bhagi Najau’.

After being suffered from paralysis, his acting career was stopped. Thakuri was cremated on Sunday itself at the electric crematorium in Pashupatinath.
