MFD forecasts thunderstorms at some places today

KATHMANDU: There are chances thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds at some places of the country on Sunday.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country.

In a weather bulletin issued for today, the met office said that thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds is possible at some places of the eastern region and at a few places of the central and western hilly regions at night.

At present, Nepal has a partial influence of westerly winds, low-pressure lines near the eastern part of Nepal and also local winds, it added.

MFD has requested to take necessary precautions as there is a possibility of thunder/lightning /wind and rain in some parts of the country in the next 24 hours.
