Lawmaker Yadav files ‘abduction’ complaint at NHRC

KATHMANDU: Lawmaker of Janata Samajbadi Party Dr. Surendra Yadav has filed a complaint at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) against two lawmakers of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and ex-Nepal Police Chief.

Lawmaker Yadav lodged the complaint against NCP lawmakers Mahesh Basnet, Kishan Shrestha and ex-Nepal Police Chief Sarbendra Khanal for ‘abducting’ him.

Earlier, Metropolitan Police Range, Teku and District Attorney Office had refused to lodge the complaint.

It should be noted that former IGP Khanal, leaders Basnet and Shrestha had brought Dr. Yadav from Janakpur to Kathmandu in what the party has dubbed as ‘abduction’.

In Kathmandu, Dr. Yadav was kept at the Naxal-based Kathmandu Marriott Hotel.
