NC demands to annual Constituency Development Fund

KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded to annual the Constituency Development Fund.

A meeting of Central Working Committee meeting of the party that concluded on Wednesday night concluded that it was no longer necessary to allocate budget for the fund as all the three-tier of government can be involved in development works.

NC stated that such programs should be removed from the budget as the COVID-19 pandemic has hit Nepal’s economy hard.

“It is necessary to annual the fund and increase money in corona fund,” NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said.

The government has been allocating Rs 60 million rupees to each MP under the development fund heading.
