ADB to provide medical supplies and concessional loan



KATHMANDU: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) says it would provide medical supplies worth US$ 300,000 and concessional loan worth US$250 million to Nepal.

ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa said this in a telephone conversation with Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada.

The two also discussed the impact of novel coronavirus and the possible support from ADB to Nepal.

The impact of coronavirus on the economy, the ongoing ADB support to Nepal and possible support in the future to Nepal’s development priorities were also discussed on Wednesday, the Ministry of Finance has said.

Finance Minister Dr Khatiwada thanked the ADB for the support adding that the country was looking forward to additional support to the health infrastructure development in the country in the coming days.

He also stressed the need to expand investment in modern and commercial agriculture and local infrastructure and rural fiscal measures so as to create more jobs in the country.
