Karnali government rescues 130 stranded in Nepalgunj

SIMKOT: Amid the nationwide lockdown, Karnali Provincial government has  rescued 130 people including women and children stranded in Nepalgunj. Owing to the standstills on flights due to lockdown, the provincial government has arranged to rescue the Humla residents including women and children using road transportation.

According to Harka Singh Bhandari, Kharpunath -4, Humla, the Provine government has arranged for their homecoming using 3 vehicles.

The rescued will reach to Gamgadhi, Mugu by midnight Monday.  Some small children who can’t walk are still  left at Nepalgunj.

Although the province government planned to keep them in Surkhet based quarantine, according to Dal Rawat the Social Development Minister of the province, the rescued refused to stay there which compelled the government to take them to Mugu.

According to Binita Bhattarai, the Chief District Officer of Humla, they will be kept in quarantine in Humla now.
