BPKIHS health workers agitated over lack of PPE



DHARAN: Health workers at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) have been agitated after the institute failed to provide them with necessary equipment used for treating COVID-19 patients.

Heath workers have argued that they and their families are at high risk of contracting COVID-19 as they have not been provided with necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

On Sunday, they wrote to BPKIHS Acting Vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Guru Prasad Khanal and Hospital Director Prof. Dr. Gauri Shankar Sha and demanded to provide the necessary equipment.

BPKIHS Acting Vice-chancellor Khanal said that they are working to provide the necessary equipment to all those deployed at the academy, adding that there is a shortage of PPE at the academy.

He said that PPE will be made available to all health workers and employees soon after they receive them from the government.
