DHANGADHI: More than 300 Nepali nationals desperately trying to enter the country have been stranded at the Nepal-India border.
A total of 313 Nepalis coming back from their work in the Indian cities of Pitauragadh, Didihat and Masuri have been stranded at the border for the last three days. They have arrived at the border on foot from those towns.
They have been putting pressure on the Nepali local authorities to give them entry to Nepal by shouting slogans such as: “We want to enter our homeland.”
A total of 225 Nepalis who had returned from India till 10 pm on Friday evening were rescued. The group of 313 people who arrived in India’s Dharchula at 12 midnight the same day have been blocked.
The authorities have not taken any concrete steps to evacuate them.
