Two COVID-19 suspects die at Bir Hospital

KATHMANDU: Two suspected COVID-19 patients have died while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.

According to the hospital Director Dr. Kedar Century, a woman, 37, who was admitted to the hospital on Sunday died in the course of treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

The woman hails from Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu and was suffering from diabetics, urine infection and hypertension.

She had a slight fever when admitted to the hospital. The woman was shifted to ICU after her health condition worsened.

Likewise, a man, 50, who was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state on Monday morning died in the course of treatment.

The deceased man is an Indian national who had returned to Nepal a few days ago, Century said, adding that the man breathed his last while undergoing treatment at around 1 pm today.

Swab samples of both the deceased have been sent to National Public Laboratory for the COVID-19 test.
