11 indulged in gambling during lockdown arrested

PARSA: Police have arrested 11 persons indulged in gambling during the lockdown enforced by the government to ward off COVID-19 spread.

A police team deployed from Area Police Office, Paterwa Sugauli nabbed 11 gamblers from Jirabhawani Rural Municipality-5 on Monday.

Police confiscated Rs 57,290 from their possession.

The arrestees are Suresh Prasad Tharu, 32, Binod Chaudhary, 30, Binay Tharu, 30, Govinda Kumar Tharu, 30, Ajhaiya Tharu, 30, Shiva Shankar Nuniya, 35, Surya Bahadur Panjiyar, 31, Harishwor Prasad Dahet, 32, Shiva Janak Gaire, 48, and Birendra Prasad Chaudhary, 35.

Police said that further investigation was underway.
