View tower being constructed in Keshpokhari in Baglung



BAGLUNG: Construction of a view tower has been started at Keshpokhari of Badigad Rural Municipality in Baglung district.

The view tower would be built at the estimated cost of Rs 20 million.

The local unit will contribute Rs 5 million for the construction while the rest of the amount would be arranged through the Gandaki Province’s Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment.

To be built at the hilltop at 2,600 meters above the sea level, districts such as Rukum, Rolpa, Gulmi, Pyuthan, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Parbat, Myagdi, Mustang and Syangja could be viewed from the tower.

Aimed at attracting as many as tourists-both domestic and external, the view tower would be five-story and built of concrete cement within two years, said Mayor Singh Paija, chairperson of the Badigad Rural Municipality.

Paija shared that the local municipality had plans to construct physical infrastructures in the local places with tourism prospects such as reconstruction of Andhadhundi Glacier Lake, Chamere Cave among others.
