Nepal’s COVID-19 caseload reaches 38,561 with 1,221 new cases



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population has recorded 1,221 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of infected persons has reached 38,561 in the country.

The latest result came after the PCR tests carried out on 12,717 persons, said Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam at the press conference on Sunday afternoon.

Among the new cases, 873 are male and 348 female.

Similarly, 267 persons have recovered so far. In the last 24 hours, 20,822 were recorded to be free from the virus.

There are 17,518 active cases of coronavirus. Among them, 6,900 are in home isolation and 10,612 in institutional isolation.

Currently, 144 persons are undergoing treatment at the ICU ward while 17 are on ventilator support.

The Ministry recorded 14 deaths caused by the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of those losing battle against COVID-19 reached 221 in the country.
