CCMC office-bearers test negative for COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Office-bearers of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (CCMC) have tested negative to coronavirus.

This includes Deputy Prime Minister Iswar Pokharel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Health Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa, among others.

A PCR test of the CCMC office-bearers was carried out after an office assistant serving the CCMC on last Sunday meeting tested positive to the virus.

Their swab samples showed negative in the results received on Saturday evening, said Nepal Army spokesperson Santosh Ballav Poudel.

The office assistant had served tea and water in the Sunday meeting. Hence, all the office-bearers had confined themselves to home-based isolation after the person’s test result was known.
