Nepal’s COVID-19 tally jumps to 19,547 with 274 fresh cases

KATHMANDU: Total coronavirus cases in the country reached 19,547 as of Thursday afternoon after confirmation of 274 new cases in the past 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Spokesperson at the Ministry Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that the new cases were confirmed in 6,304 tests carried out at 28 laboratories.

Meanwhile, 227 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals and isolation centers after recovery. A total of 14,248 have recovered across the country so far.

A total of 829 people have returned home after recovery in Province 1, 3,075 in Province-2, 524 in Bagmati Province, 1,230 in Gandaki Province, 3,918 in Province 5, 1,699 in Karnali Province and 2,973 in Sudurpaschim Province so far, he shared.

At present, 5,227 people are in isolation and 13,201 are in quarantines.

Nepal reported three deaths in the past 24 hours that took the death toll to 52, Spokesperson Dr. Gautam said.
