KATHMANDU: Police have located a jeep that a gang used for carrying fake gold and weapons.

A police team deployed from Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu found the jeep parked at an under-construction house in Nakhipot in Lalitpur.

Acting on a tip-off that the ‘gold’ was being smuggled, a team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Durbar Marg had recovered the huge amount of ‘gold’ thrown by a person traveling in the jeep.

Police had found 15 kg of ‘gold’ and two pistols inside a bag left behind by a person who ran away helter-skelter on the vehicle after noticing police.
