Sandeep Lamichhane leaves for West Indies to participate in CPL

KATHMANDU: National cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has left for West Indies to take part in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020.

“Lamichhane left for the destination on a chartered flight of Korean Air at 10 am today,” said Raman Siwakoti, Lamichhane’s game manager.

Lamichhane will reach Windies on Sunday.  He has to stay in quarantine for 14 days once he touches down in West Indies.

The CPL 2020 is beginning on August 18. The first match of Jamaica Tallawahs, a club in which Lamichhane is involved, is scheduled for August 19.

This is the third time Lamichhane is signing the contract for the CPL. According to espncricinfo.com, Lamichhane signed a contract with Jamaica Tallawahs for around US$130,000 this time.

Earlier, Lamichhane had participated in the CPL representing St Kitts And Nevis Patriots and Barbados Tridents.

Lamichhane had last year quit the CPL in the middle since he had to play from the national team.
