KATHMANDU: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) is holding its central committee meeting this afternoon.

The meeting is likely to change the schedule of the party’s general convention, it has been learned.

A meeting of the party’s office-bearers had on Sunday decided to hold the party’s 14th general convention from February 19-22, 2021 in Kathmandu.

However, the dates have to be changed considering the COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, today’s central committee meeting is also discussing the provisions of the citizenship bill endorsed by the parliamentary State Affairs Committee.

The bill on the amendment of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Act will also figure out in the meeting, party sources said.

According to NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, today’s meeting will also discuss the government’s lack of apathy in the prevention and control of the coronavirus pandemic.
