KATHMANDU: A Standing Committee meeting of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has started at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar on Tuesday.

The meeting which began at 11 am will discuss the agendas set at the first meeting, according to SC member Ganesh Sah.

The meeting is dwelling on review of party, government’s performance, border issue, COVID-19 control and prevention, MCC among others.

The meeting which began on June 24 had discussed Nepal-India border issues in the meetings on 26 and 27.

Today’s meeting will discuss another agenda since most of the leaders have already expressed their views on the border issue.

In the previous meeting on Friday held at his official residence in Baluwatar, Prime Minister KP Oli was absent citing ‘busy schedule’.

PM Oli has been under severe pressure from party leaders, including Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.

PM Oli, who is also one of the chairmen of the NCP, has been facing pressure to give up either the post of the Prime Minister or the party’s Chairman.
