House committee directs to widen PCR testing



KATHMANDU: The International Relations Committee of the House of Representatives has directed the Ministry of Health and Population to expand the testing for COVID-19 through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method.

A meeting of the committee held today said that the RDT kit was not effective for testing COVID-19 and directed to widen the PCR, said committee member Dr. Deepak Prakash Bhat.

It also directed to immediately organize quarantines at all district headquarters and local levels on the Nepal-India border and announce an immediate financial package to increase the number of PCR tests.
