Lockdown: Province-2 government to announce special package



JANAKPURDHAM: The government of Province 2 is to announce special packages for the needy including the farmers, underprivileged, and workers, who have been deprived of work during the lockdown announced to control the spread of the coronavirus.

The government convened an all-party meeting on Sunday morning to discuss the issue.

All political parties agreed to announce packages during the meeting, according to Shailendra Sah, Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative.

The provincial government said it will provide funds to the local governments and they will implement the program.

The government will finalize a working procedure for its implementation by Monday.

According to the decision, while a metropolitan city in the province will get Rs 2.5 million, a sub-metropolitan city gets Rs 2 million, a municipality Rs 1.5 million and a rural municipality will receive Rs 1 million.
