Baglung municipality offers food to daily wagers

GALKOT: Baglung municipality in Galkot has started offering meal to the daily wagers and poor twice a day considering the nationwide lockdown in the country due to COVID-19.

The municipality in coordination with the Shaligram Museum at Baglung municipality-4 and Balajidham Muktinath Bed Bidyashram has started to provide meals to the daily wagers and impoverished people.

A total of 68 persons who were working in Baglung district headquarters reached the premises of Dhaulagiri Multiple Campus on Sunday morning to have food.

Likewise, 40 persons staying at the Manav Sewa Ashram and some other daily wagers working in the local brick kilns also availed the free food service, according to the municipality.

The benevolent ones are urged to wash hands properly, serve meal by maintaining a certain distance so as to prevent the infection of the flu-like disease if any.

Considering the difficulties in earning livelihood to the daily wagers in the wake of lockdown, the municipality took the humanitarian effort, said mayor Janak Raj Poudel.

The municipality has been collecting data of the daily wagers in all of its local units to provide relief package to them.
