134 passengers on QR 652 flight from Doha to Kathmandu located

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have started locating Nepalis arriving from aboard after they started testing positive for COVID-19.

But, the law enforcement agency is facing hurdles in the lack of an effective mechanism. It has requested all those arriving from aboard recently to come into contact, media reports said on Sunday.

Two Nepalis who arrived from Qatar transit and one from Dubai and one from Dubai from New Delhi transit have tested positive for COVID-19.

Nepal Police Spokesperson Umeshraj Joshi has requested all Nepalis arriving through the flights to be in contact with the law enforcement agency.

COVID-19 has been confirmed in a 19-year-old girl and 22-year-old girl who came to Kathmandu from Doha transit through a QR 652 flight of Qatar Airways.

Police have received information that only 134 out of 158 passengers arriving in Kathmandu on the flight have been in self-isolation.

“24 others including five foreigners arriving through the same flight are yet to be located,” he said.
