Misunderstanding with Prachanda resolved: PM Oli

Hints at reappointing Khatiwada to National Assembly

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) KP Oli has claimed that the misunderstanding with Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been resolved.

In a televised interview on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli stated that Chairman Prachanda will operate the party’s activities and he will run the government.

“There is no misunderstanding between us. Discussions are held between the two of us on operating of the party and the government,” said Prime Minister Oli.

Saying that the party will get a new leadership from the General Convention, PM Oli added that there will be no competitors if a consensus is forged.

Prime Minister Oli also made it clear that he had no grudge against leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.

On a separate note, the Prime Minister indicated that he will not nominate Bamdev Gautam as a member of the National Assembly. He added that no decision to nominate him has been made so far.

“No such decision has been taken. Once he was asked to contest the election of the House of Representatives,” PM Oli said.

PM Oli hinted that Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada could be reappointed to the National Assembly, adding that he has done a good job.

Admitting that the six-point proposal of Vice-Chairman Gautam has played a role in maintaining party unity, he said that preparations are being made for a cabinet reshuffle.
