50 more test positive for COVID-19 at Narayani Hospital

BIRGUNJ: As many as 50 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in a test conducted at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj.

Five of the infected are women between 15 and 56 years of age. Dr. Atulesh Chaurasia, spokesperson of Narayani Hospital said 31 people from Parsa, eight from Bara, one from Rautahat, two from Sarlahi, three from Mahottari, four from Dhanusha and one from Kathmandu have been confirmed to have coronavirus infection.

Out of 33 people in Parsa, 10 are from Pokhariya Municipality, three from Kalikamai, Birgunj and other places.

Earlier, coronavirus infection was confirmed in 2,064 people including 458 women in Parsa. Meanwhile, 586 people have returned home after recovery.

According to the District Administration Office, Parsa, 131 people, including 39 women are in isolation while 819 people including 107 women are in qurantine.

Of the 19,130 ​​swabs collected, 340 PCR reports are yet to come. Thirty-six people have been confirmed dead from coronavirus infection. There are two COVID-19 hospitals in operation in Birgunj.

The 70-bed capacity Gandak Covid Hospital is treating 46 people including 18 women. Nine people are in ICU.

A total of 46 people, including 21 women, are being treated at the 120-bed capacity Covid Hospital in Birgunj. Of them, 24 are in ICU.
