Baitadi becomes first COVID-19 free district in Sudurpashchim Province

BAITADI: Baitadi district has become the first district of Sudurpaschim province to redeem itself from the novel coronavirus pandemic after seeing 300 cases in the past.

According to Bhuwan Joshi, the information official at the District Health Office Baitadi, the district has not reported any new cases of COVID-19 in the last 11 days.

“All 300 people who had tested coronavirus positive here have returned home after passing the quarantine period ranging from 14-35 days,” Joshi said.

He added that there is not a single person in the isolation there, and no new cases have been noticed in the district since July 13.

Earlier, Manang and Mustang districts of Gandaki Province had been declared coronavirus patient-free district as both districts reported no COVID-19 cases since last few weeks.
