Coronavirus infects over 16.8 million across world

KATHMANDU: More than 16.8 million people have been infected from coronavirus in the last seven months globally.

With 247,442 infection cases in a single day, the number of infection cases has reached 16,883,645 as of Wednesday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, 5,559 people died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 662,473.

Meanwhile, 10,445,764 have recovered from the deadly virus.

Coronavirus has killed 202,067 and infected 2,815,166 people in the European countries. Meanwhile, 1,689,583 have recovered from the coronavirus.

As many as 211,620 have died and 5,269, 278 have been infected from coronavirus in North America. Meanwhile, 2,666,321 have recovered.

Likewise, 92,721 have died and 4,047,260 have been infected from the virus in Asia. Meanwhile, 2,938,645 have recovered from the virus.

South America has witnessed 137,288 deaths and 3,855,598 infection cases, of which 2,610,335 have recovered from the coronavirus.

Similarly, 18,450 have died and 877,593 have been infected In Africa, of which 527,821 have returned home after recovery.

Similarly, 189 have died and 17,033 have been infected in Australia and Oceania. Meanwhile, 10,936 have recovered from the deadly virus.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China, the coronavirus has spread to 113 countries including two international conveyances across the world.
