Locust swarms spotted in Argakhanchi



ARGAKHANCHI: Locust swarms that entered Nepal through neighboring India reached Argakhanchi district.

These insects have been spotted in villages of some municipalities and rural municipalities–Subarnakhal, Siddhadhara, Thadadaha, Amarai, Kopchibas, Bhedamare, Simalpani, Jukena, Sitapur, Jhira and Mahendra, Dhanchaur, Dhikura, Dhakawang, Nuwakot, Kimdanda, Panini and Malarani Sandhikharka, said the local people.

Desperate farmers have come up with some desperate measures like creating noises and making smoke to chase away and kill the insects.
