Cabinet decides to continue current lockdown modality until July 22

Domestic, int’l flights to remain suspended



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to continue the current modality of lockdown until July 22.

A meeting of Cabinet held on Monday evening decided to that effect.

With the decision, the suspension of domestic and international flights will continue and public transportation will also not operate.

Domestic, international flights and public transportation have been suspended since Nepal enforced the lockdown on March 24 while private vehicles have been allowed to operate in odd and even system. While easing the lockdown, the government had allowed private vehicles to operate in the concerned districts including the Valley on odd and even basis.

Passenger evacuation flights, freighter flights, rescue flights and other emergency flights can be operated during the period.

Educational institutions, tuition centers and training centers have not been allowed to operate.

Similarly, meetings, conferences, seminars and training have been banned. Demonstrations and gatherings have also been stopped. Cinema halls, party palaces are also closed. All kinds of entertainment and playgrounds will be closed.

Following will continue to be closed until further notice:

Educational Institutions (Schools, Universities, Tuition Centers and Training Centers)
Domestic and international flights, except as permitted
Movement from international border checkpoints except specified
All kinds of training, meetings and seminars
All kinds of demonstration gatherings and conferences
Entertainment places including cinemas, party palaces, dance bars
Public library, museum, zoo, saloon and beauty parlor
Swimming pool and health club
Shopping malls
Sports and on-field performances
All religious and public places
