Four in-laws arrested for murder of Hetauda woman



HETAUDA: Police have made public of four persons allegedly involved in the murder of Sushmita Chhetri Thapa found dead in Hetauda on June 16.

Four persons allegedly involved in the murders are her father-in-law Prakash Thapa, mother-in-law Tulsa Thapa, sisters-in-law Durga Thapa Karki and Sita Thapa.

Likewise, Prakash had allegedly tried to rape his daughter-in-law Susmita in the bathroom of his house.

According to the District Police Office, Susmita has received Rs 3.8 million as a relief amount after her husband Rupendra was killed in an accident six months ago.

The in-laws killed her for the money, Makwanpur Superintendent of Police Sushil Singh Rathore said at a press conference organized to parade the culprits.

Police claimed that Susmita was killed by her father-in-law with a wooden stick while sister-in-laws Sita hit her with an iron rod.

The arrested mother-in-law and eldest sister-in-law Durga, who were in Kathmandu at the time of the incident, were also involved in the murder and further investigation is underway, police said.
