Khajuri and Jatahi transit points in Dhanusha closed

DHANUSHA: The District Administration Office Dhanusha has closed the Khajuri and Jatahi transit points for an indefinite period from today.

These two points on the Nepal-India border were kept open for facilitating the entry of Nepali nationals coming from India before this.

The Dhanusha local administration has prevented the movement through these transit points barely a day after a person died of hunger.

Assistant Chief District Officer Sharad Pokharel said the entry points have been closed from Friday.

He said that the transit points were closed on the decision of the federal government after a sudden increase in the number of people trying to enter Nepal through these points.

He stated that the transit points would be opened after quarantine and other arrangements were ready at these transit points.

People have now been asked to use the Bhiththamod transit in Mahottari and Madar transit point of Siraha to enter Dhanusha.
