KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has asked the government to bring fiscal stimulus package for reviving the tourism sector, which has been hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

A delegation led by its President Rajesh Kaji Shrestha demanded such a package in the suggestion that it presented before the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai.

The NCC has urged the government to rescue airline companies and hotels by introducing fiscal package as these sectors have been adversely dented by the impact of COVID-19.

It has also asked the government to bail out the tourism sector from the adverse economic impact.

Meanwhile, the NCC delegation suggested the government to provide financial support including tax and airport charge exemption.

It has called on the government and Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) to support the sectors through loan, loan guarantees and corporate bond.
