Ex-Minister Baskota files defamation case over audio scandal

KATHMANDU: Former Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Baskota has moved a court with a defamation case on Friday.

Baskota registered the case at Kathmandu District Court against Bijaya Prasad Mishra who leaked audio of him demanding Rs 70 million in commission over procurement of security printing press.

Information officer at the court, Gyan Bahadur Karki confirmed the filing of the case by Baskota

“I want to inform you all that I have filed a defamation case in the Kathmandu district court through my representative against the charge against me in the case,” wrote Banskota on his Facebook wall right after filing the case.

Baskota had resigned following the scandal.
