KATHMANDU: Nepal’s stock market posted modest gains on Wednesday, with the benchmark Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rising by 4.79 points to close at 2,667.97.
According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of large-cap companies, edged up by 0.60 points to 467.36.
The Float Index, however, slipped by 0.03 points to 183.29, while the Sensitive Float Index declined by 0.30 points to 158.26.
A total of 10,067,732 shares of various listed companies were traded during the day, with the total transaction value reaching Rs 4.41 billion.
Of the 13 sectoral indices, five advanced while eight closed lower.
NEPSE data showed that share prices of 122 companies increased, 143 declined, and 11 remained unchanged.
Investors in Solu Hydropower Limited, Shikhar Power Development Limited and Ridi Power Company Limited recorded the highest gains during the session.
Meanwhile, investors in Everest Color Limited, Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Debenture and Manjushree Finance Limited Debenture suffered the biggest losses.
