CHITWAN: Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has reiterated his stance saying that Prime Minister KP Oli, also the Chairman of the party, should abide by the party’s decision.

Hinting at the party secretariat’s decision to nominate party Vice Chairman Bam Dev Gautam to the National Assembly, Dahal said, “PM Oli has to abide by the decision. I am sure he will not go against the party’s decision.”

Speaking to journalists in Chitwan on Friday, Dahal urged the latter to wait for a couple of days to know the outcome.

The party is caught in a quagmire after two Chairmen Dahal and Oli are rigid to their respective stance on the issue of sending Gautam to the National Assembly.

While Dahal is in favor of nominating Gautam to the National Assembly, PM Oli wants Finance Minister Dr Yubraj Khatiwada to continue to be the National Assembly member.

Since Dr Khatiwada’s membership is expiring next week, the government needs to recommend the name of an individual to the President to appoint to the post.
