NTC offers CUG service for throw away price for teachers, students and their parents

KATHMANDU: With Nepal Telecommunications (NTC) offering Corporate User Group (CUG) service for the students, their parents, and teachers of the community schools, they could leverage the service to carry on their teaching-learning activities through telephone services at a throw-away price.

The service which aims to establish a learning link between the government and community schools teachers, students, and their parents could be availed by the members of the School Management Committee from now onwards.

As per the Contingency Action Plan on School Education 2077 BS put in place to make sure the teaching-learning activities continue despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the state-owned telecommunications company had distributed CUG service at a very reasonable price.

Under the service, the service-seekers could avail the service for a total of Rs 99 per month (excluding the government tax and ownership tax). The users could also hold unlimited conservations in a closed group, according to NTC’s spokesperson Rajesh Joshi.

Furthermore, the users could get 8GB of data for them to avail of teaching materials available on the website of the Education and Human Resources Development Centre, informed Joshi.

The users could send bulk SMSs to each other without any additional charges while as many as 100 SMSs could be sent and 1GB of data could be used for free of cost at any given time for educational purposes.
