FNCCI goes for polls to elect new executive committee



KATHMANDU: The election of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is taking place in the Kathmandu Valley on Saturday.

As many as 1,116  voters are casting their votes to elect a new 65-member executive committee of the organization.

Incumbent Senior Vice President is automatically be elected to the post of President as per the statute of the FNCCI through the general meeting.

The others to be elected include 64 executive members including one Senior Vice President, Associate Vice President, Vice President of Commodities, and District Municipal Vice President.

Kishore Pradhan and Chandra Dhakal are in the fray for the post of Senior Vice President. Both the panels are contesting the elections.

According to the election committee, votes are being cast from three places – Nepal Academy, Karki Banquet and FNCCI office building, Teku.

The inauguration of the general meeting was held on Thursday, closed session of the meeting took take on Friday virtually and the voting is takinig place from 8 am today. It will run till 4 pm.

FNCCI is the umbrella organization of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry. It was established in 1965 with the aim of promoting business and industry while protecting the rights and interests of business and industrial communities.
