NAST provides mobile vehicle for swab collection

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has handed over a mobile vehicle designed to Police Hospital to collect nasal and throat swab of the security persons suspected of COVID-19.

NAST Secretary Dr. Mahesh Kumar Shah handed over the mobile vehicle to Hospital’s SP Dr. Ashish Dutta on Friday which will be used to carry COVID-19 infected security personnel. The vehicle would be used to conduct a PCR test for COVID-19 too.

NAST’s senior technical officer Dr. Shankhadhar Dhakal shared that Nepal Police had placed requisition to the NAST some 20 days ago to build the mobile vehicle which has been named ‘Mobile Swab Collection Van.’

Earlier, NAST had provided the ‘Mobile Swab Collection Vehicle’ in support of the Nepal Army which was handed over to the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre. RSS
