Sajja Chaulagain wins Nepal Idol Season 3 title

KATHMANDU: Sajja Chaulagain has clinched the title of Nepal Idol Season 3.

Prabin Bedwal became the first runner-up and Kiran Kumar Bhujel second runner-up of the singing television reality show.

The winner received a cash prize of Rs 5 million. Similarly, the first runner-up received Rs 1.5 million and the second runner-up got Rs 500,000 in cash.

The finale was broadcast live on AP1 television Friday evening in which three top finalists performed on the stage.

Postponed due to the lockdown, the reality show had resumed after the government relaxed the lockdown.

Top three finalists – Kiran Kumar Bhujel from Mahottari, Prabin Bedwal from Bardiya and Sajja Chaulagain from Morang – competed for the coveted title in the grand finale.

Unlike previous years when Nepal idols had staged musical programs across the country to win votes from audiences, the show this time did not earn so much publicity due to constraints created by the coronavirus.

Who is Sajja?

Twenty-two-year old Sajja, the winner of Nepal Idol Season 3, was born in Morang. She is also a member and the lead vocalist of The Loading Band.

She had been performing in several stages, lounges and clubs in Kathmandu.

Sajja prefers singing songs from rock genre.
