Province 2 records five COVID-19 deaths, death toll reaches 77



JANAKPUR: Province 2 recorded five more coronavirus-related deaths— one woman and four men—in the last 24 hours.

According to Province 2 Directorate of Health, one from Bara, three from Mahottari, and one from Siraha have succumbed to the coronavirus.

A 77-year-old man living in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan-2 of Bara, a 37-year-old man of Manara Siswa Municipality-4, a 74-year-old from Siswa-5 and a 60-year-old man from Singyahi in Bhangha Municipality-2 of Mahottari succumbed to the coronavirus.

Likewise, a 65-year-old woman from Lahan Municipality-9 of Siraha died of the pandemic.

A total of 77 people, including 12 women and 65 men, have died from the coronavirus infection in the province so far.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, 30 people have died of the coronavirus in Parsa, 13 in Bara, 12 in Dhanusha, six in Mahottari, five in Saptari, five in Siraha, three in Sarlahi and three in Rautahat.

Province 2 had recorded eight deaths on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the province added 91 cases to its tally. A total of 20 people from Dhanusha, one from Parsa, four from Bara, 13 from Mahottari, 21 from Rautahat, seven from Saptari, 13 from Sarlahi and 12 from Siraha of Province 2 have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.
