Only 500 grams out of 15 kg gold-like metal turns out to be real

KATHMANDU: Only 500 grams out of 15 kilograms of gold-like metal recovered by police from Kamaladi on Tuesday has turned out to be real gold.

Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Chief SSP Shyam Gyawali said that the remaining ‘gold’ was found to be fake.

Police had seized 15 kilograms of ‘gold’ along with two pistols.

Acting on a tip-off that the ‘gold’ was being smuggled, a team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Durbar Marg recovered the huge amount of ‘gold’ left behind by a person.

Police found the 15 kg of ‘gold’ and two pistols inside a bag left behind by a person who ran away helter-skelter on a vehicle after noticing police.
